On 8th November, Nick Barclay, Andy Bull and Carleton Martin set out to represent ORs at the Annual OBFL Dinner at The Valley, the home of Charlton FC. This was a special occasion - all the hard work had been done, now it was party time and prize giving.
The meal consisted of:
- Beer on arrival (orange juice for Nick)
- Tomato and Basil Soup
- More beer (orange juice for Nick)
- Steak and Kidney Pie, Roast potatoes and vegetables
- Red wine and more beer accompanied this (orange juice for Nick)
- Apple Pie and custard
- Coffee
- More beer ( more orange juice for Nick)
Alan Ball MBE spoke about his football stories from Blackpool to England - he was very funny. Then came the awards.
Nick went up to collect the trophy for the ORs 7s Championship Winning Team from the squeaky little chap. Once he had presented all trophies and collected his own (cheque), he left, pretty quickly.
A great night was had by all those who attended. Thanks to Nick for driving, Eddie for Navigating, Carleton for coming along and Andy for writing this and taking the photos.
